Our local tuner who rewrites a/f and ignition maps does it using a chip emulater and a/f probe [not the same as the TechnCar guy I mentioned] (DOH! There's goes XXX brand 'unlocking secret of Nissan ECU's' statement out the window). This may/may not be the same device that you're talking about but the lambda probe is extremely sensitive! Doing a dyno run with xxx brand chip that was running extremely rich the numbers were changing so fast on the a/f readout we couldn't keep up with them! Thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure the a/f probe he uses is similar to the three wire 02 probe where the 02 sesnor is preheated, as opposed to the types that are mounted in the exhaust downpipes. ------------ : 02 sensor locations. The Wide Band works best when it is within 18" of the last exhaust valve. That's exactly how I just dyno'd a month or so ago...Any more than that distance and your temp reading will not be accurate and meltdown will soon follow. Just my .02 worth
